Social. is an app for people who want to make new friends and maintain online friendships. Another purpose of the app is to connect influencers and leisure venues striving to promote themselves (and each other). 

Our client is an influencer himself, so knowing the way things work in Dubai, he knew the needs of these people. He decided to take advantage of it and make a mobile app that brings people together and enables mutual benefit.

Challenge

The Founder of Social. came to us on the recommendation from Alex with whom we cooperated during the development of Meditation Mindfulness. He wanted to design a mobile app that is very different from all the other solutions. He had an idea to create something that would enable making new friends easier as well as to take advantage of the influencer marketing (which is thriving in Dubai) and connect Influencers and venues to make their cooperation easier.

We designed the app for users to:

  • register linking an Instagram account to get verified
  • find matches and meet people with similar interests chat together (also in groups)
  • arrange meetings with matched people in restaurants and leisure venues with discounts and other special offers.

The app is to serve for social purposes but also local businesses to promote their events and venues. The events and offers are divided into different categories so that everyone will be able to choose what's best for them.

While creating the designs we had to ensure that the app was first and foremost intuitive and focused on creating social communities and interacting within them. That’s why a smart solution for this kind of product is to implement matchmaking to create pairs and larger groups. 

Project's scope

Our task was primarily to understand the way things work when it comes to influencer marketing in Dubai. Our Client came to us only with an idea and some research concerning similar apps. The workshops lasted for 3 days. We discussed the requirements and made decisions about the features for the app having in mind its social and networking purposes.

Then, we were responsible for creating the designs. We provided our Partner with a full design of all screens with a deliberate flow. We've also created a new business logo that fits the app design. We advised our Partner to use Flutter for this app, but the project has never reached the development stage.

Communication

At FiveDotTwelve, we use multi-channel communication and reach out to our partners in a way that is convenient for them. We also always thrive to make the communication as transparent as possible at all levels. In this project we communicated through Google Meet and Whatsapp.

 

Development process

The workshops lasted 3 days and creating designs took us 150 hours.
