Ecomess Data Management System
Ecomess is a manufacturing company specializing in the production of single-jet water and electronic water meters. They also supply other water-related products to the domestic market. The company’s primary customers include housing associations and utility metering companies.
We have had a successful collaboration with Ecomess on various projects. Our partnership began through a recommendation. For this particular project, we developed a mobile application and a SaaS platform. Our goal was to enable efficient data collection, presentation and management, ensuring accessibility for end customers.
Our primary point of contact on the client's side consisted of the CEO and two Product Managers. The challenge was to create a system that would allow easy collection, presentation and management of data for end customers. Additionally, we aimed to provide functionalities such as generating reports, managing alarms and creating bills through a web portal.
The system needed to cater to various user roles, from managers to tenants and also include remote reading capabilities. We wanted to ensure that users could easily access data for specific flats or entire housing estates.
The project aimed to achieve the following goals:
- Present data and manage water and energy consumption on different levels, catering to managers, administrators and tenants,
- Empower residents to control and monitor their resource consumption, encouraging savings,
- Enable remote readings for efficient data collection,
- Facilitate the generation, management and optimization of settlements and bills through the web portal,
- Provide easy access to data for specific flats and entire housing estates.
The Ecomess mobile app offers the following features:
- Users can check their water consumption in their flats,
- Comparisons of water consumption between different apartments within a building,
- Users can also compare water consumption across various water meters within one flat or house.
The first step for this project included conducting workshops to gather project requirements and create the project documentation. Next, we developed the SaaS platform and simultaneously worked on the mobile application for Ecomess clients.
Our designer has also created the UI/UX designs for both the SaaS platform and mobile app.
Our collaboration with Ecomess resulted in the successful development of a comprehensive data management system. The web portal and mobile app provide users with convenient access to their consumption data, enabling efficient resource control and savings.
By implementing remote readings and billing functionalities, the system has greatly streamlined the management of utility services.

During the course of the project, we used several communication tools. Slack was utilized for day-to-day communication, while Trello served as our initial project management and collaboration platform, eventually transitioning to Jira.
