Challenge

The CEO and CTO of Projektt Technologies approached us with significant prior experience, having previously worked with freelancers and an in-house team. However, they decided to transition to a different collaboration mode and chose us as their outsourcing partner for mobile app development. This shift was aimed at saving time and expediting the development process. 

While there were no pre-existing designs or documentation, our Partner had a well-defined vision for the app. Our task was to take charge of the project to fulfill our Partner’s goals, which included establishing a platform for training and fostering a wellness community.

The Squaddy app allows you to:

• Create and share workouts and training content with your group and create interactive leaderboards to make things competitive
• Chat with your teammates, training buddies and clients in your Squaddy group
• Organise online or IRL sessions, matches and events using the group calendar
• Create in-depth articles, guides and links to post to your group to keep your members engaged and organized
• Invite members into your group with a customizable link
• Promote and demote admins and remove members to run your fitness/wellness community without hassle
• Give your community the chance to interact with each other to motivate, offer support and build relationships
• Create groups from 1 to 200k members, so you can keep it private or wide open

Squaddy supports all types of training and wellness, from Aikido to Zumba, and everything in between. 

Project's scope

We started with the discovery meetings that showed our Partner’s requirements regarding the new product. Asking the right questions and conducting thorough analyses allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the client's business and objectives. The cooperation progressed very well, so our partner was convinced that they could entrust us with further activities. 

That’s how we moved on to establish the core features of the app. Then, apart from creating designs, we became responsible for mobile app development with Flutter. The app was launched on mobile app stores. In this project, we were also responsible for running QA tests and project management. We continue to cooperate with our Partner, adding new features and updating the app.

Communication

In this project, we’ve implemented Scrum methodology for project management and worked on Story Points. The tool we used to map and manage tasks was Jira. For daily communication, we used Slack and Google Meet and held documentation on Confluence.
